Tiranian Steel

Tiranian Steel is a metal unique to the Darkreach Realms on Tirem. It is not an alloy, but a unique metal unto itself. It requires special smelting and forging techniques to be properly used for any metalsmithing. This process is discussed in the non-weapon proficiencies section of the Library of Morancia'. When properly forged, Tiranian Steel, or Tiranium, is especially resistant to any for of breakage, recieving a +2 bonus to saves made against any form of breakage. Also, Tiraniums melting point is a little more than twice that of normal steel. Consequently, it receives a +2 bonus to saves against fire, acid, dragonfire, etc. Tiranium is not in itself magical, but it confers a +1 bonus to the AC of any armor made with it (only metal armor of course). The wearer of such armor also recieves a +1 bonus to saves against fire and acid attacks. Products made with Tiranium are indeed stronger than steel, but Tiranium weighs slightly less than steel(not significantly so). Tiranium also lends itself well to being imbued with magic. A weapon, piece of armor, etc, made from Tiranium is more receptive to magical energy. All attempts at enchanting such an item has a +15% bonus to succeed where applicable. The downside to this trait is that magical spells are seemingly more effective when used on someone donning armor made from Tiranium. All saves against magic are made with a -1 penalty. Tirenium can only be found deep within the mountains of the Trul Mountain range. The mining town of Hulrek is the major source of Tiranium in Darkreach.
