Planet Tirem and the Darkreach Realms

Before the settlement of Tirem, it had no indigenous intelligent humanoid life forms. It did, however contain many of the creatures that might be found on a myriad of other worlds in other dimensions.

In 1,268b.m. (before Mor Ia’), a race of Elves, known only as Mysticans, migrated to Tirem from an unknown dimension. They settled in what is now Darkreach, and built an immense city just west of the Nelledron mountains. They thrived for many years, but did not expand their rule any farther than the confines of their great city. Their society was totally based on the practices of the mage. It is said that they created many powerful magical devices for the betterment of the society and for easier living. They built up their city into a sprawling expanse of huge buildings and gardens of crops and thousands of flowers.

Then between the years 486 and 494 b.m., the Mysticans disappeared from the face of Tirem. There are many theories as to what could have happened to the Mysticans. One such theory is that there was some sort of coming of great beasts. Such as a flight of mighty dragons, that was to powerful for the people of Mystria to repel. Other theories are plague, famine from bad harvest into tough winter, and many others. The theory that seems to hold the most water, and is adopted by Osren Mulmarinn, is that a society of out cast Mysticans calling themselves Luridians, grew in power over their years in exile. In the years of their disappearance a great war was waged between the Mysticans and the Luridians. A war fought with the great and powerful Magic's. In the end they wiped each other out.

There are many clues that support this theory. Over the years, bands of adventurers under the hire of Osren Mulmarinn have ventured into the ruins of Mystria and recovered numerous tomes and treasures from the great city. Among these were books on the teachings of the Mysticans culture. Including their language, religious beliefs, and many other subjects. There were also tomes that told of the history of the Mysticans settlement of Tirem. Enough history was in these books to help support Osren's theory and tell a lot about their culture.
